For a Communist Initiative and a communist pole in Germany

First of all I am honoured having been invited to this important international meeting. I am therefore convey the most militant and revolutionary communist regards on behalf of the “Communist Initiative” (Provisional Organisation Committee) in Germany to the organizers of this meeting and all international delegations.

The contradictions within the communist movement in Germany are becoming more and more visible. On one side, we see that the necessary of a united, marxist-leninist Communist Party is important and necessary, but on the other side the communist movement is split into many rival communist parties and groups in which the political dominance of revisionism is immense.

Different attempts to create a united Communist Party failed dramatically in the last years because of the absence of a clear strategy based on all marxist-leninist principles. It is a fact: responsible for the downfall of the communist movement and counterrevolution is revisionism, so the erosion of the political, ideological and strategic principles of marxism-leninism. But at the same time, the wish for the unity of the communists was never stronger.

But if we take a look on developments outside Germany, we can see some positive examples of the communist movement. One of the most positive examples is the Communist Party of Greece, which unites all aspects of a marixst-leninist party: from the adherence to marxist-leninist principles, their orientation to the working class and so on. In Austria the comrades formed the “Communist Initiative” for uniting the communists beyond the revisionist marsh of the so called KPÖ (Communist Party of Austria). Their long-term aim is to create a united communist party free from revisionism, reformism and opportunism.

The analysis of the role of revisionism as basis for the counterrevolution and the splitting and decline of the communist movement but also the positive examples in Greece and Austria makes it evidently that clearness must be the fundament of every communist politics, strategies, tactics, organisations and, of course, the party.

This clarity must be based on – at least – the following three main points:

1. to accept ALL scientific principles of marxism-leninism, especially Lenin’s theory of imperialism, state, revolution and party, the proletarian internationalism and so on.

2. to accept the historic role of the socialist countries, especially the Soviet Union and German Democratic Republic as the main achievement of the German working class.

3. to accept the necessity of the permanent struggle against revisionism and opportunism by the communist party, because revisionism is the base for the downfall and disintegration of the international communist movement and the impermanent victory of the counterrevolution in Europe.

According to Lenin clarity comes before unity. The Communist Initiative Germany stands for this clarity.

The Communist Initiative aims at opening the perspective for a collection of communist in Germany from different organisations or those who are no more or not yet organized based on the above mentioned three basic points of marxism-leninism.

We call on all communists – whether they are organized or not – and to all who want to break with the imperialist system, seriously fighting for the proletarian revolution, for the dictatorship of the proletariat, socialism and communism. Our long-term perspective is to create a united marxist-leninist party.
